Data from your minimum dataset will need to be presented
in some format that depicts the pre-post intervention
periods and allows comparison to be readily interpreted
by the clinicians involved.
This feedback newsletter contains examples of possible
formats. View PDF now. (File size: 260Kb)
There is no set timing for these evaluation periods. They
will vary according to project-specific factors.
Your project may choose to present comparative data actively
(eg in a meeting) or passively (e.g. by disseminating
it via leaflets to the clinical team).
There are real advantages in
taking an active approach to presenting comparative data
which enables clinicians to discuss the results as either
a whole team (where that is possible in your care system)
or in smaller sub-groups. Results from supplementary data
sources (e.g. patient or clinician surveys) can also be
discussed. That way, any problems encountered or issues
with implementation can be shared and strategies to resolve
them can be explored.
Clinicians may wish to consider modifying
interventions or adding new ones in the light of their
systematic evaluation of data.
